Super Bowl XI

Super Bowl XI took place on January 9, 1977, in Pasadena, California at the Rose Bowl. This was the eleventh championship game of the National Football League. Super Bowl XI had the American Football Conference (AFC) Oakland Raiders against the National Football Conference (NFC) Champion Minnesota Vikings.

On the road to Super Bowl XI, Oakland and Minnesota ended up with a 16-1 and 13-3-1 record, respectively. Oakland won Super Bowl XI, 32-14. Oakland gained a Super Bowl record 429 yards in Super Bowl XI (288 yards in the first half). Raiders’ wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff had 4 catched for 79 yards, and was named Super Bowl XI MVP. Biletnikoff was the only one of five receivers not to have gained 100 yards during the Super Bowl.
