How does the CMA Award process take place?
Each CMA member may nominate one act in each category on the first ballot. Any that receive 10 votes becomes an official nominee. The nominees for the CMA Award are submitted to the entire CMA membership on the second ballot. On the second ballot, CMA members must vote for five nominees in each category. The five receiving the most votes in each category are listed as finalists on the third ballot. In the final CMA Award ballot casting round, the CMA members vote on one nominee in each category to determine the winners.

The first seven ESPY Awards ceremonies were held in New York City; two years (1993 and 1994) at Madison Square Garden, and five years (1995 through 1999) at the Radio City Music Hall.
