Augusta National, the golf course for the Masters, is a private golf club in Augusta, Georgia. The Masters Golf course is one of the most famous and exclusive golf courses/clubs in the world. The Masters Golf course is also the site of the annual Masters Golf Tournament, and is the most revered golf course on tour by American fans. Because of the yearly televised coverage, fans not at the Masters can become familiar with the Masters golf course.

The Masters golf course has never been rated, even though almost every other private and public golf course in the United States has been. The Masters golf course is also known for its’ beauty. Since the Masters Golf Tournament is held in the spring, the flowers on the trees and shrubs on the Masters golf course are in full bloom. Flowers, trees, and shrubs are not the only natural features that the Masters golf course has. “The Big Oak Tree” located on the Masters golf course clubhouse side is approximately 145 to 150 years old. “The Big Oak Tree” was planted on the Masters golf course soil in the 1850’s. The Eisenhower Tree is a loblolly pine tree on the 17th hole of the Masters golf course, 210 yards from the Masters tee. President Dwight D. Eisenhower was a Masters golf course club member and hit the tree numerous times during play. The Masters golf course club decided to name the tree after the famed president.

Ike’s Pond is another Masters golf course feature named after then General Eisenhower. Eisenhower took a tour of the Masters golf course and told Masters golf course members that a dam needed to be built on the eastern part of the ground, to have a fish pond. The Master golf course members named and built the pond where Eisenhower suggested. Rae’s Creek, another important body of water at the Masters golf course, cuts across the southeastern corner of the Masters golf course, near holes 11, 12, and 13.

Membership to the Masters golf course club is primarily exclusive, and only obtainable by invite. There are only 300 Masters golf course club members. Fees range between $25,000 and $50,000.
