Super Bowl XXXIX took place on February 6, 2005, in Jacksonville, Florida at Alltel Stadium. This was the thirty-ninth championship game of the National Football League. Super Bowl XXXIX had the American Football Conference (AFC) Champion New England Patriots against the National Football Conference (NFC) Champion Philadelphia Eagles.

In Super Bowl XXXIX, New England (17-2) beat Philadelphia (15-4), 24-21. With the Super Bowl XXXIX win, New England became the first team since the 1997-1998 Denver Broncos to win consecutive Super Bowls. The Super Bowl XXXIX win also added New England to elite company; the Patriots become the second team after the Dallas Cowboys to win three Super Bowls in four years. New England wide receiver Deion Branch was named Super Bowl XXXIX MVP off of 133 yards on 11 catches.
